Building Amazing Blog Post Content

So now that you have created your blog.
Let’s get to creating some amazing content.

Write in your own voice

First off, make sure that you add your own personality to your blog posts.

That is what will make you stand out from the rest.

Write your posts as if you are just talking to a friend.

It’s not like writing an essay where every word needs to be proper or professional.

Put some feeling into your writing.

You want to make your audience feel connected through your words.

They will come back if they like your style.

Add attention-grabbing media

You want to make sure to add some great media into your posts.

Try adding some pictures that represent the topic your writing about.

It’s great if you can add your own photos, just be sure to remove any tracking info from them first.

People love to know who they are connecting with.

But, if you don’t want to go that route, there are plenty of resources where you can find free photos to use.

The one I prefer to use is Pexels. They have a ton of free quality stock photos here.

If you want more options, you may want to check out this post.

Finding Stellar Stock Photos. It can give you a few more ideas.

Another thing you may want to think about is adding video.

This is really on the rise right now.

Some people prefer to watch a video over reading the entire post.

A lot of bloggers create a short video of their post and add it right into it.

Make it easy to read

You need to break up your content.

Using numbered or bulleted lists are both great layouts for your post ideas.

Or just add small little-detailed headings within. Like I have done here.

It really helps make your post easier to read.

Also, it looks better than a thousand-word post all crammed into one paragraph.

A lot of readers like to scan through a post to see what it contains.

When it’s broken up it’s easier for someone to find a certain area they may need.

It’s all about your audience. You want to make it as easy for them as possible.

We want to keep them returning!

Adding links into your post can help you out too.

If you can put a link to another one of your posts it will help keep the reader engaged in your site.

Just watch adding links that direct them out of your blog.

You want to keep them on your website, not someone else’s.

If you’re using an affiliate link, have it open up in another page.

That way your blog is still open for them to come back to.

Write amazing content

Of course, this one is a given.

You need to make sure that you are putting out the very best content.

It needs to stand out from millions of other blogs. No pressure though…:)

Make sure you have the perfect headline for your post.

Your headline should be able to grab your reader in.

How can you make it stand out and be chosen over the others?

This one line needs to make them decide to come and check out your blog.

You should also try to add as much content as you can to your post.

The average post used to be around 300 words.

Now, most bloggers put out about a thousand-word post, if not more.

They try to make it as useful and detailed as possible.

Don’t start every sentence with the same word either. Try to mix it up a little.

If you need some help coming up with synonyms, use this tool., it’s a great resource to keep in mind.

And it’s free. Can’t beat that!

Remember, you are a problem solver. Your post needs to be able to help your audience.

Address the problem that you’re going to help them with.

Then make sure to give them a feeling of urgency to fix this problem.

Kinda like this will happen if you don’t fix this.

Now show them that you have an answer or the solution to help them.

It’s always good to add some encouragement in there also.

Tell them that you know they can do it if they just follow your instructions.

Everyone loves a confidence booster.

Add a call to action

It’s always good to add a call to action on every post.

Make sure there is a place for someone to sign up to join your email list.

You may want to use an email campaign provider.

Start building your email list as soon as possible.

Try using a freebie to get people to sign up.

They are more likely to give up their email for something in return.

It is always smart to encourage interaction also.

Have a place they can comment or let them know to feel free to email you with any questions they may have.

They will feel more comfortable trusting you if they can get to know you better.

After all who’s gonna keep coming back? Those who feel they trust you!

Is it Shareable?

You’re going to want to share your post on social media to get traffic to your blog.

There are plug-ins you can get that will allow people to share your post on social media.

I use a Pinterest pin-it button plug-in.

This makes it easy for someone to share your post while they are reading it.

Create your pins for Pinterest and add one right into your post.

The graphics will help add to the media within your post too.

Depending on what you choose to use, there are other options.

It’s best to have an easy way to find you on your social media, right from your posts.

They have plug-ins for Facebook, Instagram, and even Twitter.

This is another given.

You always want to read over your post before you publish it.

Check for, of course, any misspelled words.

A great tool for this is Grammarly. It’s a free resource that works wonderfully.

Proofreading can help you decide if something may need to be removed.

Maybe you got off topic and something is out of place.

Or maybe you need to add something else to it.

I will change up my words a lot of times while proofreading it.

You want to make sure it sounds good and reads easy.

It’s always good to get someone else to read over it too if you can.

A lot of times someone else will see something you have missed after reading it multiple times.
