If you are just starting out you need to know what plugins are the most important.

Plugins are what helps make your website run easier.

Some are absolutely essential, while others just help improve.

There are a ton of them to choose from, so finding the best ones can be hard.

So, in case you need some ideas of what plugins to use…

plugin ideas

My list of WordPress plugins that every beginner blogger must have.

Before we go any farther, let me say that it is important to make sure that you have some security.

Anytime you are on the internet, you run the risk of getting a virus.

If you don’t have any protection, you can get some here.

Okay, now on to my list.

Google Analytics

Of course, this is the first recommended plugin.

This one is definitely a must-have.

Google Analytics is a tracking device for your website.

It will give you insight into the statistics for your whole site.

You’ll be able to see how many users you have, pageviews, and even the bounce rate.

You will know how many people visit your site as well as where they came from.

In other words, if it was organic, from social media, ect.

It even lets you know which country your views are coming from.

Giving you detailed information will help you decide what is working best on your site.

This is a free plugin.

Yoast SEO

The next recommendation is Yoast SEO.

For those who may not know, SEO is search engine optimization.

This plugin is to help you improve your SEO.

Yea, I know you kinda figured that one out.

Anyway, it has easy set-up and is beginner friendly.

This is definitely another must-have.

Your SEO is going to help you attract visitors to your site.

We all want that.

Although this is a free plugin, you can upgrade.

I have found that certain aspects don’t work well in the free version.

That’s what I use since I have a limited budget.

But I find that it offers enough for me to still find it useful.

Jetpack

Jetpack is another plugin you should have.

It should have already been downloaded on WordPress.

This one offers many great features.

A few of them would be performance, analytics, and social share buttons.

Another feature that it helps with is security.

I find this to be a great tool.

It fights against malicious attacks and threats.

And it even lets you know of any downtime you may have.

Jetpack also helps with spam protection.

This is another free plugin with paid advanced features.

I use the free version and find it to work just fine.

Akismet

Akismet is a plugin that protects against spam.

It is used to help keep spam comments from getting onto your blog.

They even offer a feature that allows you to never even see them.

This way you never even have to deal with them.

It is also a free plugin that has a paid upgrade option.

I no longer use this plugin, because I already have spam protection.

If you are protected, then you can skip this one too.

Ultimate Social Media Plus

So this next one you can tell is a social media share button.

There are a lot of these to choose from as well.

After looking around, this is the one I am most happy with.

I don’t like the button placement on other ones.

With this one, you get different options.

You can have them at the end of every page, they can float, or even pop-up.

There are different designs to choose from also.

And your buttons can have several meanings.

Example it could lead to a Facebook page or simply allow someone to like.

This plugin offers many customization features.

The free version has a lot to offer.

They have a premium version as well.

But, I find the free version is just fine.

WordPress Plugins for beginner bloggers

Pinterest Pin It Button

Yeah, the next one speaks for itself as well.

But anyway, it is a Pinterest button.

I think there may be quite a few of these also.

This one is just a small button that sits atop your image making it very easy for someone to pin your post.

I chose to use this as well as the other social media buttons since Pinterest is my main social media outlet.

Pretty sure that’s the case for a lot of us! If you use Pinterest give this one a try.

Oh yeah, did I mention it is free?

Thirsty Affiliates

So this one here, I totally recommend if you are using affiliate links.

Which I am sure you are, or at least plan to.

This plugin allows you to keep track of your affiliate links.

It will store them for you so you don’t have to look them up every time you need one.

You can easily access them too.

It places a button right in your editor panel while writing in WordPress.

This is also a free plugin.

Email Marketing By Drip

I am recommending this next one because it’s the email marketing provider I use on this blog.

If you don’t have one yet or would just like more information click here.

They even offer a free trial that comes with all the perks.

But, if you already have a different provider, you should check to see if they have their own plugin.

Almost any of your popular providers will have their own plugin for WordPress.

Make sure this is one plugin that you have downloaded.

You want your email to be integrated with your website.

It just makes sense.

SG Optimizer

I totally recommend this last plugin as well.

The only catch for this one is that it is only for SiteGround users.

This plugin will link your WordPress with SiteGround performance services.

It allows you to turn on caching easily.

And this will improve your load time.

We all know how important that is.

They will also assign a free security certificate to your site.

Everyone needs to make sure their site is secure.

Whether you are a big business or small you need to have security.

Having a secure site with a fast load time is important for Google ranking too.

So, this one is a must-have.

If your web hosting doesn’t offer these to you then it’s time to change providers.

You can do that right here (or below) if you would like.

Don’t overdo it

Now, I know that there are a ton of more plugins, but these are the ones that I use and recommend.

Another thing to remember is that you don’t want to go overboard with plugins.

Having too many can slow your site down.

You don’t want that to happen.

So if you have a bunch downloaded that you don’t use make sure to delete them.

Delete them completely, don’t just deactivate them.

You can always just download them again if you decide you want it back.

Feel free to let me know any of your recommendations. Now get out there and get your site running better! ☺

Remember to make sure you are protected!

Here is that link to the anti-virus protection again.

This is a great deal, plus they even run faster than other top anti-virus software!
